Shimane Interpreter Guide Association was established on February 19, 2012.

   It is a professional group of people with national interpreter guide license or area-designated guide license.  As of May 1, 2017, we have 31 members: 27 for English, 3 for Chinese and 1 for Korean.

   We work as tour guide according to the request from travel agents or private persons. In recent years, we have been asked most frequently to guide those foreign tourists on a cruise while stopping at Sakaiminato Port.  We guide them to Matsue Castle, the former Samurai Residence called Buke-Yashiki, Japanese traditional washi paper workshop, Izumo Grand Shrine, Adachi Museum of Art, Mt. Daisen, Tottori Flower Park and so on.  

   Fortunately, we have been having favorable feedback.
